Anxiety

Feeling nervous and uncomfortable are normal human emotions—like the feeling you get before a job interview or preparing for a big exam. For some, nervousness is amplified into something even more than sweaty palms—anxiety. Anxiety disorders prevent a person from leading their normal life, and often times stop them for performing important tasks or partaking in activities—like going to work or meeting up with friends.

That feeling of panic, fear and uneasiness does not need to be your normal.  We provide a unique solution to help you manage your anxiety and overcome what is holding you back from living your life.

Marital Therapy

Every relationship has its ups and downs, with some days being easier than others. When couples have reached a roadblock in communication, being able to talk out these highs and lows with a third party in a neutral environment allows couples to feel safe and comfortable enough to work through issues rather than past them.  Marital therapy has helped countless couples create a foundation for a healthy, lasting partnership.

School Issues

It’s no doubt that the pressure’s of academic life can take a toll on a student’s mental and physical health. And often time the stress caused by the social and academic aspects of schooling is hidden from parents and teachers. This forces students to carry this stress with them, leaving it unaddressed for a long period of time.

This undue stress affects more than just a student’s grades. Their ability to socialize and connect decreases, physical health declines, and ultimately their schooling will need to be abandoned to focus on recovering their mental health.

Our services offer a safe environment where students can be heard and understood. We are ready to put a plan in place to combat the difficult emotional challenges academia brings to young adults.

Behavior Management Issues

When problems are intensified by unhealthy thought patterns or psychological trauma, being aware and mindful of these destructive patterns and what triggers them is the key to overcoming such distress.

At Preferred Behavioral Health, we emphasize and encourage healthy modes of communication, social skills, mindfulness, positive self-talk, awareness, and many other activities. Studies has shown that children are better able to control their behavior when receiving behavior therapy from parents who are supported by healthcare professionals.

At Preferred Behavioral Health, our skilled therapists work alongside parents to help them engage in active listening and positive attention with their child, as well as create structure and consistency within the home. Such actions lead children to function better in school and have improved relationships with family members.
